The Transition

Well,

My last day of work was last Friday. I turned in my ID, gave my exit interview, ate lunch with my co-workers, and went about my merry way. Honestly, it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. While I am closing this chapter, I'm very excited about having the chance to pursue what I have been wanting to do for a few years now. That's an awesome feeling!

I moved my stuff to Terre Haute last weekend. Going to room with Jen, just glad she let me room with her, she's got a great place! Shout out to Jen! After donating lots of my stuff and yardsaling some items, I have decided I still have a lot of crap! (I mean treasures) :) At least my parents are awesome and let me bring some of it back to PC.

What now?

Well, officially back to ISU on the 18th to get settled in and help my department I'm working for by working a back to school tent. I signed up to work the cornhole and snow cone booths...woot! Hey, I'm getting paid for it.

But first, beach vacation with the fam, if we ever get reservations.

More to come. Hoping to actually get more thoughtful about Art and stuff soon. But, for right now, life updates will suffice.

Buenos Noches!

Hop on the Sycamore Express!

Ladies and gents, it's finally really official! I'm going to graduate school!!! I was offered the assistantship I interviewed for, and of course, they said yes! They said that I was an "unanimous choice." I will receive most of my tuition paid for, as well as a stipend. It's very similar to the work I do now at Digital Printing, however, it's 90% design work, and not as much printing. So for you all that want to know all the details, I will be attending Indiana State University at Terre Haute, IN to pursue a MFA in Graphic Design. My last day of work at the print shop will be July 29, and school starts August 24. In the meantime, I get to play the moving/packing game...any volunteers to come help?

In the Home Stretch

Greetings,

My graduate school journey is slowly coming together. I have an interview for an assistantship, which rocks and would cut my tuition in half, so keep your fingers crossed that I'm the favorite! More to come on grad school later.

And So the Journey Begins...

So, welcome! I would first off like to apologize to my blog. I have abandoned it since March, but hopefully I will try to improve my long-term relationship with my blog.

News! I've been accepted to graduate school at Indiana State University for the Fall to pursue my MFA, should I choose to do so. Very, very much want to do this! But, that thing called life and responsibility makes it a little hard to just jump up and leave, but I'm working towards it. Went and visited, really loved the how feel of the place, and I think the program will be a good fit. More to come on this!

I've been in the process of revamping my portfolio website since I graduated (in 2007)! Needless to say, the fruits of that labor are yet to be seen, but I'm finally close. I've realized that it is MY website and reflects me, and just because it isn't super fancy/snazzy like other designers' sites doesn't mean there's anything wrong with it, that just makes it mine. Looking for cheap places to host my site, if anyone has any suggestions.
